The Skiathon is Sat. There will be extra classic tracks in the Stadium and near the skihut until Sat afternoon.

I will reset tracks on T-field and Smith lake tomorrow morning. I didn't see that they were drifted over until too late to reset them this morning.

There are lots of branches, leaves on the woods trails.

I recently added weight to the groomers to produce denser tracks

There is a snowshoe race on Sat,Feb 23. It will end at approx. 1pm. Grooming of the course will start at 1pm.

Skarland trail from Beaver Slide to Estel connector has had tracks set

A big wind came through this morning and blew alot of leaves and branches on the trail

Trails are soft

Trails still need alot of packing before they will be in good shape.

Whenever a trail gets groomed the tracks get reset.

Classic tracks are being moved in from the edges.

Equipment is has been ordered that will fit down those narrow classic trails, ie Baseline trail

For classic tracks to be set on all of Skarland trail and the Estle connector we need a little more snow.

Three moose spotted on Potato field this morning.

There are still moose around on the trails. Take care!

Take care on Estel trail. Wood chips have been placed with a thin layer of snow on top. Orange cones remain to mark the spot.

There are one maybe two foxes out on the trails (T-field and Potato field) hunting and leaving tracks.

Smith Lake has a nice set of user created classic tracks. There are areas of slush and some thin spots in the ice.

T-field walking trail loop is done and signed. The trail goes north along the power poles and crosses the ski trail at the northeast corner. It then veers left in the center of the field and returns to the south east corner.

Walking Trail Change T-field- The walking trail no longer goes around the outside of the skitrail. It now crosses the field from the northeast corner to the middle of the west side, where it will enter the woods and end up on Smith lake. This last section has yet to be signed.

12:00 noon 1.25" of new snow, snow temp at noon 31.5 F Most ski trails have been rolled including Ballaine Lake.

Snow temperature 11am at skihut 24.7F.

Ice thickness Ballaine Lake 5+" although there is a thawed layer about 1-2" down. Lake will be groomed next week if the weather cooperates.

Ice thickness on Smith Lake checked today; Potato Field trail access 5+" T-field trail access 5+" North west corner 5+" West side 5+" Southwest corner 5+" South side 5+" There is a thin spot between Potato field trail and T-field trail with open water. Ice thickness around the spot is all 5+" The 32+ temps on Friday softened the ice quite a bit. In some spots there is a water layer about 1-2" down. If the weather stays cold then Smith Lake will be groomed on Monday or Tuesday.

Tfield and Tfield road walking trails are now mowed and walkable

Most trails are in decent shape. Estel connector is rough. Beaver slide new section has lots of undergrowth

As with most trails, there is not enough snow yet to remove all the tracks. It will take a bit more snow cover.
